Positive Reviews
positive:
Very Convenient to Public Transport.
For many, the main plus point about this hotel is its nearness to public transport. It’s just a couple of minutes to the metro and the M1 line, which goes directly to the Louvre. For those on a budget it offers good value for money, with easy access to the sights of Paris.
positive:
Helpful Reception Staff.
The staff at the reception desk are professional and welcoming. If asked for help, they are only too happy to oblige. The majority speak English, but some former guests had difficulties being understood. They help make guests feel welcome with their friendly attitude.
positive:
Clean Comfortable Rooms.
The rooms are cleaned regularly and the large towels are changed every day. Beds are comfortable and with good mattresses and toiletries are also provided for guests in the bathrooms.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noise within Hotel.
Some found the hotel too noisy. The issue is not with exterior sounds but from the neighbouring rooms and corridors, with the sounds of voices and doors slamming carrying into other rooms.
negative:
Small Parisian Rooms.
As with many hotels in Paris, the Tamaris has rather small rooms. Guests used to larger, newer accommodation may find the rooms too small for their liking. The shower is likewise very small and is difficult to manoeuvre in for taller people. The hotel also features an old style lift, but this too is on the small side, only suitable for one person.
negative:
Hotel Key Retention.
This hotel has a policy for retaining guests’ keys while they are out sightseeing, or for an evening meal. Many former guests weren’t happy with this policy and worried about the security aspect of leaving their valuables behind in their rooms. Guests do have the option of using a safe, which is available on request.
