Many reviewers paid tribute to the personnel, describing them as mostly very friendly, helpful and attentive. Guests were generally reassured by the sight of security guards working in the hotel, but a few times they were reportedly overactive and tried to prevent guests bringing visitors to their rooms.

The buffet breakfast was extensive and to many diners' liking. Those who tried the hotel restaurants for lunch and dinner were generally impressed with the quality of food and service. Facilities in the hotel also had many fans, with the free gym and free Wi-Fi both generating largely positive opinions.

Most reviewers had praise for the comfortable beds, which featured adjustable firmness controls. The rooms themselves were generally described as spacious, clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning was more than adequate for most visitors.

Most guests were happy with the location within walking distance of downtown San Jose. However, others occasionally reported concerns about the safety of areas close to the hotel, especially after dark. Nevertheless, it was easy enough to get taxis for those unhappy with walking around.
