Of course many guests travel to Paris for a bit of shopping, and a lot of guests loved being so close to their (bargain) hunting grounds. It enabled them to shop, and then just before they dropped they could nip back to their hotel for a quick breather.
Perhaps some guests had got the wrong idea, based on traveller's (tall) Parisian tales, but many were surprised at the level of friendliness displayed by the hotel's staff. Again and again guests mention it, and also that the staff really helped them out with local information.
Perhaps the city had been experiencing extreme temperatures, but several guests went out of their way to comment how the in-room air conditioning saved their life in the hot Parisian summer they experienced during their visit.
Considering its amazing location, in an expensive city long known for its small hotel rooms, it is hardly surprising, but many guests commented that their room was a tad “petit”. It didn't seem to bother most, since almost all their time was spent out in the city, but guests who like their space may have to look elsewhere.
Another Paris cliché, but many guests mentioned that the lift was really small, which created problems for those suffering from claustrophobia. Unfortunately this is the norm in historic buildings in Paris, and guests looking for large lifts may need to find a newly built hotel, perhaps around La Defence.
