Hotel Novotel Paris La Défense (La Defense, France)

Guests who stay on the higher floors rave about the fantastic view of the city, including many of its famous landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Sacré Coeur, and Arc de Triomphe are mentioned often. The rooms aren't too bad to look at, either: most describe them as very clean, with modern furnishings, comfortable beds and well outfitted with useful amenities like a mini fridge and safe.

Though the hotel is popular with business travellers for its location in La Defense, many note that Metro Line 1 is only a five-minute walk, and offers a direct route to the Louvre, among many other famous Parisian attractions. The surrounding neighbourhood is also pleasantly quiet at night.

With a few exceptions, the reception staff are generally considered very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. Young families have gratefully accepted their help arranging trips to Disney, and international travellers have been relieved to discover many speak English or other languages in addition to French.

Several guests have commented that the toilet and shower are enclosed in separate rooms, which some travellers like. However, the room with the toilet is "very small" and does not also have its own sink, which makes for an irritating and potentially unhygenic configuration, especially if you are travelling with little kids.

A few guests have reported difficulties with the air conditioning or heating. Some guests also find the general atmosphere and decor of the rooms to be a bit "cold" as well.

Though many guests find the restaurant offers fairly good value, particularly for the breakfast buffet, others are disappointed in the overall quality of the food or are let down by unenthusiastic or inefficient wait staff.
