Positive Reviews
positive:
Inclusive access.
The Old School Guest House is perhaps a bit different to many of its competitors in the fact that the owners of the guest house offer a more inclusive approach to accommodation with a layout and design aimed at allowing less-abled or disabled guests an easier and more enjoyable experience.
positive:
Spacious and clean rooms.
Rooms are quite spacious with a warm colour palette and simple décor. A dedicated and friendly housekeeping team ensures rooms remain immaculately clean with regular bedding and towel changes as well as regular replenishment of complimentary consumables.
positive:
Great all-rounder.
The Old School Guest House presents good all-round value and convenience with plenty of onsite parking, friendly and efficient staff and great breakfast options to suit just about everyone. The property is also clean both inside and out and is well-maintained.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some traffic noise.
Some rooms seem to allow the nearby traffic noise to come through a bit more than others and it may be a good idea for business travellers or light sleepers to book rooms that are away from the motorways.
negative:
Choose rooms carefully.
Not all rooms feature en-suite bathrooms as these are designated as Superior Rooms, all other rooms feature shared bathroom facilities and not everyone enjoys this type of layout. To be sure, if en-suite bathrooms are a must, ask for the Superior Rooms specifically when booking.
negative:
Small shared bathroom.
The shared bathroom facilities are a bit on the small side and are also quite lacking in basic features and facilities. There are no places to hang towels or clothes and the mirror is quite small and difficult to use for practical applications such as applying makeup or shaving.
