A great many guests have been bowled over by the on-site Marinara Restaurant. If you like modern Australian cuisine (with an emphasis on Italian-style seafood) beautifully cooked and well presented then you’ll definitely enjoy the delectable fare on offer here. Superb.

It has to be said that everywhere within this hotel feels really clean, airy and fresh. Even the accommodations, which are many and varied, have a ‘just this minute been cleaned’ vibe about them.

Although it is advertised as being a city centre property, this hotel is actually a good ten-minute drive from the main town and harbour districts, i.e. the areas where all the bars and restaurants are.

If you’re a light sleeper then you may want to ask for one of the guest rooms at the rear of the property when making your booking as the traffic on the nearby Pacific Highway can be pretty noisy at night.

The thought of having to climb and descend three flights of stairs may be of little consequence if you’re a long-limbed backpacker in the first flush of youth. If you’re not though, you may well find the absence of a lift to be more than a little irritating...
