The hotel is within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants as well as the town’s historic Cathedral. Guests appreciated being close to all the amenities and not having to worry about parking or taking local transport in order to get to the shops and the city centre.

The food at the restaurant has been described as well-prepared and made using fresh local produce. Many guests enjoyed their dining experience and were also complimentary about the quality of the breakfasts. The cooked dishes at breakfast were served hot and were of generous size whilst the buffet items were also thoroughly enjoyed by many.

Many of the guests complimented the staff on their helpful and friendly attitude. The reception staff greeted the guests with a smile and made them feel welcome and they also assisted them on various occasions such as making sure guests found a parking space or offering them useful information with regards to the local area.

Guests whose rooms were in close proximity to the function suite, complained about the loud music and noise which often lasted until the early hours preventing many from getting a good night’s sleep.

The hotel is a popular venue for wedding receptions and there are also those who visit the hotel in order to use the spa or to have dinner at the restaurant. The car park can get very full leaving little space for resident guests.

Guests who stayed at the hotel during the warmer weather and wanted to use the air-conditioning units in order to cool down their rooms, complained about the loud noise that they made which prevented many from using them.
