A luxurious four star hotel, Hotel Vip Praia is located in the capital city of Praia, Cape Verde. The glass facade of the hotel building gives a wonderful view of the sea as well as the city. There are 71 rooms and three suites which are done up beautifully. Rooms are provided with air conditioning, minibar, LCD cable television, safe and a telephone. Bathrooms come with a bath or shower. An outdoor plus indoor pool along with a spa and wellness centre, fitness centre and hot tub are present. Some of the facilities offered here are luggage storage, onsite shops, meeting facilities, babysitting, laundry and airport shuttle. The hotel offers free parking and Wi-Fi. Breakfast buffet is available. Onsite restaurant Monseigneur and piano-lounge plus pool bar Papillon are present. Hotel Vip Praia is close to the Prainha beach. Most of the guests loved the breakfast buffet served here. Menu included freshly-squeezed juices, variety of bread, healthy fresh season salads and many other delicacies. The onsite restaurant on the ground floor serves a fusion cuisine of palatable local and international dishes, which was loved by the guests. One of the other attractions of the hotel is the rooftop pool that gives a breathtaking view of the city of Praia.
Guests loved the gym/fitness centre in the hotel that had all the latest Techno Gym installations and a TRX too. The indoor pool with a bar next to it was a hit among the guests who wanted to enjoy their drinks and unwind. The hotel staff was very courteous, helpful and knew their job very well.
One of the major concerns of the guests is that of the Wi-Fi connection. At times, the free Wi-Fi is not fast, but the Wi-Fi signal was very good in the hotel. Guests could stay connected from any corner of the hotel property. Rooms were clean and well-equipped with all the basic amenities.
Some of the guests were not too happy with the recurring electric shut downs as often as three times a day with no power backup.
The sink is made in a very thin rectangle shape making it difficult to place anything on it. There was water all over the place because of the orientation of the sink. Guests felt that the attempt to make it look modern resulted in the loss of functionality.
There was some construction work going in at the rear end of the hotel during some guests' visit, which made it look unsightly.
