Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location all round
Guests mentioned that they loved the location for a variety of reasons. One reason was that it was just off the freeway. This made it easy to find initially, and was also convenient for when guests were ready to head off on LA’s central nervous system, its freeways. Another reason given for loving the location was that the hotel was right opposite Plaza Mexico, a unique mall.
positive:
Remarkably quiet
Despite being so close to the highway, guests were astonished to report that their room was a haven of relative peace and quiet. It seems that the hotel has installed good soundproof windows to keep the noise out.
positive:
Great welcome on arrival
Guest after guest mentioned that the welcome they received on check-in was both warm and enthusiastic. They often mentioned staff members who had gone above and beyond by name.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Exceptionally poor breakfast
No matter that it was complimentary, guests really didn’t think much of the breakfast offered. It was described as incredibly basic, consisting of not much more than a cup of coffee and one or two carbohydrate staples. Even relatively easy going guests felt they couldn’t really construct a decent breakfast.
negative:
No in-room microwaves and minibars
There was clearly a lot of misunderstanding and unhappiness about these two amenities. Many guests expected to find them in their room on check-in, but they were not there. The hotel says that it can put them in the rooms, subject to availability, but guests found this to be difficult to achieve in practice, with much insisting required before they would be supplied.
negative:
Problems with the Wi-Fi
An extraordinary number of guests mentioned that they had trouble with the internet. It wasn’t that it was slow, but that it was often simply unavailable for long periods of time.
