Positive Reviews
positive:
Well Located and Tasty.
The Stanneylands Hotel is quietly located in this pleasant part of Cheshire, yet within easy reach of Manchester Airport. The check-in at reception is friendly and fast. The breakfast is very tasty, and the serving staff very helpful. The manager attracts appreciative comment from both guests and wedding visitors.
positive:
Wonderful Weddings.
The food presented was very good, and one needs to book as the dining room is small. A number of people who held their weddings here were delighted with both the organisation and the quality of the catering.
positive:
Good Transfer.
The car parking is good, and free, and the taxi transfer to the airport was found by guests to be efficiently organised and punctual.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Patchy and Scratchy.
The service and efficiency at reception is very patchy, guests comment that when they arrived early there was nobody on reception and they waited ten minutes only to be sent to the bar as the room was not ready, there they waited for half an hour for service, and nobody came to say their room was ready. It was commented that for an airport hotel not to have a very early breakfast service is ridiculous.
negative:
Drinks Problem.
Drinks in the bar are expensive, and there is a very limited selection. A diner was served warm white wine.
negative:
Renovation Required.
Guests who stayed in a twin room found the bathroom could have been cleaner. The water pressure of the shower was not high enough. The corridors are gloomy, the room's TV was not tuned right, the milk was off, and noise from other rooms intruded. It was felt that the hotel is looking well past its best, and would benefit from a refurbishment.
