    Location is the main selling point.

    Not enough good things can be said about the location of the hotel. It is in the thick of things just outside the Jordaan neighbourhood, where cafes and bars rub elbows with cultural sites.

    Rooms in Amsterdam are usually shockingly small. So it is a happy surprise that rooms at The Regal are a bit larger. Beds are said to be firm but comfortable by many.

    The staff have been described as helpful by some travellers. Others, however, have found the staff to be rude.

    Mice are the most common critter seen in the hotel, but roaches have been spotted as well. Scurrying mice keep some up at night, and hygiene concerns are also had.

    Many complain that the free Wi-Fi on offer is really only available on the ground floor. And with no TVs in the rooms, this can be annoying for those looking for entertainment.
