positive:
Beautiful historic location.
The New Inn Winchelsea occupies an old 18th century building and many of the original features including original support beams and brickwork are visible throughout the property which really gives a wonderful sense of English history. Winchelsea village is beautiful and also convenient for exploring interesting sites without needing to drive for miles and miles.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Thin room walls.
Being a very old building, the room walls are very thin and lack the benefits that modern wall insulation provides. It is sometimes quite easy to hear street noise, the goings-on of neighbours and occasional noise from the downstairs pub.
negative:
Stairs may be difficult for some.
First floor rooms are reached via a winding staircase which may be a bit too difficult for elderly guests or those with certain mobility issues. Some have also found the beds to be a bit too high to comfortably get in and out of.
negative:
Some issues with showers.
One or two minor issues relating to the showers includes excessively hot water and a seemingly ineffective cold water tap, noisy plumbing and showers that are slightly too low for tall guests to comfortably use.
