Hotel The Idle Rocks (St Mawes, United Kingdom)

Everything in the hotel seems to be perfectly situation for great views – the rooms, the restaurant and the outdoor terrace. If you love the water and seaside views then this location is ideal.

While this free breakfast might not measure up to guests standards, many travelers to the Idle Rocks say the breakfast here is excellent. They also offer a variety of choices and fresh produce.

The decor in the hotel common areas and the bedrooms has been called superb by many of the guests. A number of them also compliment the size of rooms.

A few guest commented on food being overcooked sometimes – a burnt steak, dry scones, etc. There doesn’t seem to be a poor dish per say, but rather the food is hit and miss depending on who’s in the kitchen. It should be noted though that many people did

While many compliment the staff, a few visitors did mentioned they felt the staff moved slow or they were being treated as a nuisance (or even demeaned) from time to time.

A number of guest mentioned that the menu is limited to mostly fish dishes. Being a harbour inn that doesn’t seem surprising, however, for non-fish loving guests they wished the choices were a bit more varied.
