Negative Reviews
negative:
In red light zone
The satisfaction of having found such a great value central hotel wears off when guests notice the high concentration of sex shops, strip bars and lap-dancing clubs scattered around. The area is shabby and with some dodgy looking people lurking around some guests feel a bit intimidated, especially single females. Many guests finally admit that the area is actually quite safe, but they wouldn't recommend you bring children or your grandma with you!
negative:
Can get hot
It's not just the establishments around the Royal Hotel that can get pretty hot - so can the rooms. With the lack of air-conditioning guests warn that the rooms can become unbearable in the summer heat.
negative:
Noisy
The streets around the hotel can get pretty noisy. Although the soundproofed windows block much of it out, they can do little to stop the reverberating bass coming from the strip-club beneath the hotel. Also with no air-conditioning, guests are confronted by the unenviable choice - heat or noise!
