About Parador de Ronda
Perched atop Ronda’s 120-meters’ deep El Tajo ravine, few hotels can match the privileged position of the striking Parador de Ronda. Capturing the very essence of Andalusia, this former town hall turned four-star accommodation boasts spectacular views of the gorge spanned by its famed trio of bridges.
All bright, spacious and colorful rooms at Parador de Ronda have en suite bathroom, minibar, safe, and satellite TV. Some are duplexes with terraces offering town, mountain or gorge views. Air-conditioning and heating operate seasonally.
There is free Wi-Fi throughout and on-site parking available plus room service, a garden terrace, seasonal outdoor swimming pool, elevator and accessibility features.
Fresh and seasonal Andalusian cuisine, including regional meats and cheeses, is on the menu in the hotel restaurant. A buffet breakfast is an optional extra.
Charming Ronda old town and its bullring are ten minutes’ walk while the Arab quarter lies just across the bridge.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Top location and superb views.
Does this hotel boast the best views in Andalusia? Some reviewers, especially those whose rooms had balconies overlooking the ravine, certainly thought so. Not only did visitors rave about its privileged clifftop position and breathtaking views, but also they liked being a short walk from the city center for dining and visiting the bullring.
positive:
Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms.
Guests generally liked the rooms for being spacious, clean, comfortable and tastefully-decorated. Those lucky enough to have a balcony with gorge view seemed to be the most impressed.
positive:
Courteous and attentive staff.
Reviewers mostly had praise for the welcome at this hotel. Personnel were described as attentive, friendly and helpful although some guests reported slight delays checking-in during peak periods.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Obstacles to sleep.
While most reviewers seemed to have slept well during their stay, some light sleepers reported difficulty getting a good night’s rest. Besides occasional claims of uncomfortable beds, some visitors unused to the Spanish heat had to choose between opening windows to keep cool at night and blocking out street noise because the air-conditioning wasn’t always operational.
negative:
Some features may require updating.
A few guests described the hotel as looking as if its last major revamp was some time ago. Reviewers mentioned dated décor and tired features in some rooms. The free Wi-Fi was said to be on the slow side too.
negative:
Mixed opinions over value for money.
Perhaps it depends how much importance a visitor places on staying somewhere that offers such an incredible position and views, but some reviewers felt they paid over the odds for their stay at this hotel especially if they were underwhelmed by the views from their rooms. A few critics described it as overrated because similar views are afforded during a short walk through Ronda.
