Guests were very pleased to find that they had complimentary tea, coffee and cake available around the clock, while the breakfasts were also popular for their apparently wide selection of simple, but tasty fare. Furthermore, the staff was said to be very helpful with things like organising day trips and providing local information.
Örkin was said to provide good basic value for money, with people reportedly finding simple, but clean, comfortable rooms and reception service at all hours. For this reason, it was said to be great for those on a budget, or just stopping over.
According to reviews, there are some nice communal facilities on offer here, including a games room and English-language TV, as well as a relaxed atmosphere throughout. For these reasons those travelling with families found it very pleasant.
The Wi-Fi was not thought to be good in the bedrooms at Örkin — but fine in common areas — and some considered the rooms a bit small or and a little on the dated side, but people said that they expected this for the price. Furthermore, a few of those who stayed said it was not exactly in the centre of Reykjavik, but mentioned that it did not take long to walk downtown to the city's main attractions.
