Hotel Oceana Inn Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz, USA)

Oceana Inn is in the middle of everything. It is close to downtown Santa Cruz and well placed for the boardwalk, the university, the freeway exit and lots of local shops. It is only a few minutes away from the beach as well.

The Wi-Fi is free here, both in public areas and in guestrooms. The connectivity is reasonable as well, so you should be able to do whatever you need to do online without too many interruptions.

There is a pool at this property, so you can have a swim or just chill out under a pool umbrella if you don't fancy heading out.

Oceana Inn is in desperate need of love and attention. A lot of the decor is old and the furniture is well past its best. The rugs are worn and frayed and there is a musty smell about the place. The mattresses are thin and in need of replacing, as are the pillows. In the bathrooms, there is mold in the shower and a serious lack of toiletries. The towels are of poor quality too. The area in which the hotel is positioned feels quite shady, with some dodgy looking people hanging around.

The walls are very thin here, so you will hear what is going on in neighboring rooms. Also, the traffic noise from outside might disturb you.

Staff here aren't always very helpful and sometimes come across as uninterested. Also, the breakfast on offer is pretty poor. It's basically just cereal and toast.
