Positive Reviews
positive:
Great city and a great location.
Many visitors ignore Las Palmas in favour of Playa del Ingles and other resorts, but it has an appeal all its own, plus a fantastic beach. It’s an old city so there are plenty of museums and places of interest to visit from this 3 star hotel base. Walk a bit further for fashion shops and department stores that will really impress.
positive:
Very friendly hotel staff.
They’ll make sure you get the best value out of your stay and if you want hotel dining, it’s no bother to walk along to the (more expensive!) sister hotel. That said, no end of bars and restaurants are just as easy to walk to!
positive:
Explore Gran Canaria.
You can walk to the main bus station, although there is a local bus to take you there. Then you can travel, past the airport, to the south of the island, Playa del Ingles etc; or take a trip to the inland mountain region and the rugged, less touristy coast beyond Las Palmas. Wonderful – and cheap!
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rotten little rooms.
Strike it unlucky and you could finish up in a cramped room, with no view, to the rear of the hotel. If it’s also near the lift, it may be noisy too!
negative:
Las Palmas + the Marmite factor.
Depending on what you are looking for from the holiday, Las Palmas will number among the most charismatic places you’ve ever visited – or it will be a dump that you can’t wait to leave. You'll love it or hate it.
negative:
Poor beds.
Beds are uncomfortable and small. Doubles, for instance, are similar in size to a large single!
