The wood stairway that leads to the upstairs apartments is very steep and can be quite difficult to negotiate if one is travelling with large, heavy or cumbersome luggage. It is also difficult for anyone with mobility issues so booking on the ground floor would be the best option in these cases.
The apartments are not particularly well-insulated and the wood flooring does not do much to help this issue. It is quite easy to hear conversations and footsteps from adjoining apartments and from the owner's apartment at the top floor.
