Hotel Monterey Kyoto (Kyoto, Japan)

A number of previous guests who stayed at the hotel were very impressed by the standard of cleanliness both in the rooms and in the common areas of the hotel. Guests also like the simple yet nice decoration throughout.

Guests commented that the hotel is in a very convenient location close to the Imperial Palace and the Nishikiri Markets which are popular local attractions. Guests also said that the hotel is close to the subway, making it easy to get around Kyoto.

Staff at the hotel were described by guests as very polite and helpful, especially for those travellers who did not speak Japanese.  Guests said that the staff were very attentive and quick in replying to any requests made by guests regarding their rooms.

Guests commented that even by Japanese standards they felt that the rooms were very small and that the beds were tiny. Guests said that there was not enough space for them to store their belongings comfortable and move around the rooms with ease.

Guests were not impressed by the set up for breakfast with many complaining that there were a lot of people crammed into the dining room trying to get their eggs!. Guests complained that the wait was long and the food was cold.

Guests were very disappointed by the Wi-Fi service provided free by the hotel Guests said that they had difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi and staying connected as it kept dropping out which left them very frustrated.
