Positive Reviews
positive:
Very lovely grounds
The hotel is popular as a wedding venue, and so tends to keep its gardens in tip top shape. But its not only the wedding parties that benefit form this. Other guests also remarked how beautiful the grounds were, and seemed to enjoy spending time there in deep contemplation.
positive:
Excellent on-site restaurant
Guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the food was. It appears that it was not always so well-regarded, but there have been some recent changes that have improved the food by several orders of magnitude.
positive:
Exceptionally elegant rooms
Quite a number of guests remarked on the room decor and furnishings, and said they thought they were exceptionally well designed. They were described as elegant without being overbearing or ostentatious.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hotel lacks many facilities
There was a feeling among some guests that the hotel lacks some facilities. Considering it country position, and status as a top wedding venue, they thought it might benefit from luxury amenities such as a swimming pool and spa.
negative:
The walls are paper thin
Going by guest comments, it seems the designers and builders did not take any measures to soundproof the rooms. While the hotel is in a quiet country location, so doesn't really have external noise, guests speak about hearing noise from adjacent rooms.
negative:
Showers a bit disappointing
A few guests mentioned that they were a little disappointed with their showers on account of the very low water pressure. It made showering properly a little difficult, and they thought that power showers should be installed.
