Positive Reviews
positive:
Wonderful front desk staff
Going through the reviews, one loses track of the number of times guests go out of their way to mention a front desk staff member who clearly went far out of their own way to provide excellent service. Guests felt they got both great service and good recommendations and local knowledge from the reception staff.
positive:
Pretty decent breakfast
It was clear that guests really enjoyed the breakfast. Since the hotel itself describes it as a simple continental breakfast, guests were almost surprised to be reporting that they really enjoyed it, saying that the food was both tasty and well presented.
positive:
Great restaurants nearby
Many guests were clearly relieved to find a good many decent restaurants well within walking distance. The hotel only offers breakfast, but guests did not feel they had to travel very far to eat well. The Cracker Barrel, right opposite, was often mentioned by name.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms too small for some
Quite a number of guests thought that their room was a bit too small. They felt that is was bit too awkward for two people and their luggage to occupy the room without getting in each other’s way.
negative:
Temperature control issues
A number of guests traveling in winter reported that their room was freezing on check-in. It had clearly not been heated before being released for occupation, and there was often not enough time to heat up the room before bed, making for a very cold night.
negative:
Problems with reward points
Guests who had booked through third party booking sites were very disappointed to discover that they could not claim Wyndham reward points for their stay. They were informed that only direct bookings qualify for these points.
