Hotel Luze Castellana (Madrid, Spain)

Good connections abound, especially if you are staying in the area for easy access to the football stadium. If you are a Real Madrid fan, you are in luck.

The vicinity is quite safe and you feel at ease walking around, even during the late evening hours. Surprisingly, you will find plenty of well-known chain food outlets like Dunkin Donuts, KFC, and Burger King. There is also a supermarket just a few minutes walk away. The hotel district is residential and quiet.

The rooms are simple and adequately clean for the most part. The size is more than sufficient and the price is reasonable.

The hotel only provides one laptop, which has a broken keyboard, for the entire place. The internet is slow as a snail and printing a document is complicated as you must send the document to a hotel employee's email address and they will print it for you. The only thing fast about this hotel is the elevator. You'd better make sure you get through those doors quickly or you might find yourself with a tap to the head!

The parking is a bit expensive. It's inconvenient as well because each time you need to get in and out of the parking area you have to go to reception and get a “clicker” and then return it immediately to the front-desk. You may find yourself getting yelled at if you forget to return it!

The hotel pool is shared with condos and each time you want to swim they take your passport. After signing in you receive a card. Upon returning the card, you get your passport back. You will probably feel a bit awkward giving such a precious document like your passport just to take a dip in a swimming pool!
