About La Maliosa D'Arienzo
Situated in a commanding cliff top spot, and offering endless views over the Mediterranean, La Maliosa D'Arienzo is an enchanting B&B offering comfortable accommodation among the olive trees.
All the rooms open out onto a broad terrace with gorgeous views out over the Med. The rooms have a certain sense of elegant simplicity and come equipped with all you’ll need for a great stay, including minibars and air conditioning.
Reception staff can assist in arranging scooter hire and also with basic concierge services. Limited onsite parking is available for a fee.
A light Italian breakfast is served on the terrace under the fragrant bougainvillea pergola. There is also a small bar serving drinks from early till late.
La Maliosa D'Arienzo is just a little bit out of town. The main beach and pier, in the heart of Positano, are approximately one mile away on foot, but there is a small cove beach much closer to the B&B.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Spectacular views out to sea
Guests definitely liked the views out over the Mediterranean. In fact, the views were perhaps the main reason for booking here. They were described as magnificent, with the elevated position and hillside olive groves combining to create a view that was at once serene and dramatic.
positive:
Gorgeous “private” beach
Well, it wasn't so much a private beach as a “secret” one. Guests reported that there was a small cove beach very near the hotel that was much quieter than the main beach at Positano that allowed them to catch some rays in relative peace and quiet.
positive:
Friendly and helpful staff
It was rare to read a review that did not praise the staff in some way. Guests were especially impressed by how genuinely friendly they were and how they were very willing and able to help them with local information and recommendations.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit too far to Positano for some
Quite a number of guests felt that the property was a bit too far to the heart of Poistano. While they said it was possible to walk there, it was quite a long and strenuous walk that they really didn't feel like doing too often. Also, they wouldn't want to walk there at night, meaning that a taxi would often be required.
negative:
Stairs everywhere
Of course, like any hotel built into the side of a steep hill, this one contains a number of steps. In fact, guests reported that there were an amazing number of steps all over the place. While most took this in their stride, those with mobility issues were less enamoured.
negative:
Rooms not well soundproofed
A number of guests mentioned that they could quite easily hear sounds from neighbouring rooms, even fairly normal ones like people talking or a TV playing.
