positive:
Clean and friendly accommodations
To many, the word hostel is synonymous with dingy surroundings and boisterous student travelers. While there will be lively guests, you'll always find cordial, knowledgeable staff and spotless facilities at the IHSP Chicago Hostel.
positive:
Coffee always available
If you're the type of person who believes that coffee is one of life's little pleasures (or a vital necessity), you won't have to worry at the hostel. They have a coffee maker with plenty of coffee (or tea, if you prefer) available all day long.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Windowless rooms
While the hostel has very reasonable rates and comfortable rooms, several guests noted that some interior rooms don't have windows. As such, they can get a little stuffy. If a windowless room seems too claustrophobic, you may wish to request a room some sort of view.
negative:
Weak showers
If you require a good shower to get you going in the morning, you might be out of luck at the IHSP Chicago Hostel. A number of travelers noted that the showers have poor water pressure, limited hot water, and some rooms only offer shared bathrooms, which could mean a wait to shower.
negative:
Poor soundproofing lets in noise
Some guests mention that, although some rooms are removed from the clatter, others—especially those close to the kitchen or shared areas—can get noisy due to limited soundproofing and the communal atmosphere of the hostel.
