The former residence of the former Count of Casafuerte, Yosef Montoya, has been transformed into the charming Hospedería Palacio de Casafuerte and cozy restaurant where its decoration forms the ideal mixture of different styles, giving it an unequaled atmosphere of comfort that enhances its historical value even more. The Palace is a splendid stone building with vestiges in the XV century, whose interior is accessed by a door in a half-point arch framed by an alfiz. They are of great admiration the ironworks that reinforce this main entrance and the coat-of-arms shield, symbol of the old house, of thirteen stars of eight points, that watches this entrance from the part superior. As a remnant of ancient uses of the Palace, the building has magnificent drafts excavated in the stone that served as warehouse and breeding of an old cellar. Also from these drafts an ancient passage was discovered that had to serve as escape route in the origins of the Palace like defensive turret. The first signs of this construction date back to the 11th century, when these lands belonged to the Kingdom of Navarre. There are writings of the time that speak of the existence of a Strong House.
