Positive Reviews
positive:
Welcome to Florida City...
Many guests rave about the exceptionally warm and friendly staff, noting that the front desk team is knowledgeable about the area and quick to offer additional assistance to anyone who seems daunted by the DIY waffles, which are reportedly delicious.
positive:
Nicest place in the neighbourhood...
Guests often note that the hotel is easily the nicest in Florida City, and well located for drivers, just off the highway with a large outlet shopping mall around the corner. Several popular chain stores and restaurants are within a short drive, and it's only about half an hour to Key Largo. Many guests find it is an excellent base for exploring the Everglades.
positive:
All the comforts of home...
Many guests say the suites feel "brand new," and they appreciate the cheerful, modern decor as well as the practical design touches such as the full-sized refrigerator and freezer in the kitchenette area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Poor attention to detail...
More observant guests often comment that though the overall look of the rooms is modern and "new", the contractor must have been in a hurry, as finishing details such as paint, electrical sockets, baseboards, and similar details were not completed very well, and give the place a bit of a "low budget" vibe.
negative:
But the neighbourhood isn't the nicest...
Guests comment that there is little within walking distance beyond the Wal-Mart, and walking there after dark is generally not recommended, though the hotel does now employ a diligent security guard at night.
negative:
Mixed reviews for breakfast...
Though few guests leave hungry, some are put off by the "feeding frenzy" feel created by long lines for the waffle maker or the microwave to heat the breakfast sandwiches, which are a hit with some and a horror to others.
