Negative Reviews
negative:
Smoke Smells
The hotel’s decision to allow smoking in some rooms is a policy that provokes annoyance in some. While the fact is clearly stated on the hotel’s website, visitors who miss this might be shocked when hit with a strong smell of cigarettes which invariably pervades some corridors.
negative:
Not All Rooms to Standard
According to recent comments, the hotel is experiencing ongoing renovations to improve all areas. Not all rooms have benefited this far, however, and reviewers report that those yet to be attended to have old, smelly carpets, battered furniture, torn wallpaper and mouldy shower cubicles.
negative:
Pesky Plumbing
One of few consistent complaints pertains to plumbing. Some guests report extremely intrusive noise from water pipes, some of which occurs intermittently throughout the night, infuriating light sleepers. While staff can often accommodate a room change, at peak times this might not be possible.
