Peaceful and laid-back atmosphere.
The guest- house is set back from the hustle and bustle and is surrounded by its own gardens which the guests found very calming and peaceful. Being able to sit on their balconies or by the pool, surrounded by tropical plants was described as a thoroughly enjoyable. .

Close to local attractions and amenities.
Many guests were pleased to find that they could reach all the local amenities on foot. As there is no restaurant on-site, guests were able to walk to some of the cafes and restaurants which are only a short distance away. The beach and the popular Duval Street are also close by which meant that many did not have to use their cars for the duration of their stay. .

The guest-house reflects the charm of the olden days and guests were pleased to find that it retains many of its original period features. Original artworks and the stained-glass windows left a lasting impression on those who stayed here. .

Dated interiors.
Some of the guests were disappointed to find the rooms looking rather tired and dated. Furniture and upholstery were described as old-fashioned and tatty with broken lampshades and worn carpets. The bathrooms were also said to be in need of modernization given the moldy grouting and chipped wash basins.

The outdoor pool was described as quite old and dated and in need of remodeling. Guests noticed broken tiles and algae floating in the water and said that the pool looked liked it had not been properly maintained. .

Guests reported a number of plumbing problems including poor drainage and leaky faucets. The water pressure was described as being quite low and some guests were disappointed to find a lack of hot water. .
