Positive Reviews
positive:
Super-stylish hotel.
This hotel takes style to another level, maintaining a confident, art-nouveau theme throughout. Guests love the unique designs of their suites and the attention to detail that's evident in every aspect of the design. If you're bored of bland, corporate hotels, you'll love the vivacious individuality of Gotham.
positive:
Stellar service.
Staff go the extra mile at this hotel, and guests love the treatment they receive at Gotham. From personalised treats for special occasions to an all-round professional, friendly service in all areas of the hotel, you'll be made to feel like a VIP throughout your stay.
positive:
Spectacular rooftop bar.
This hotel occupies a former bank, and you can feel like a million dollars at Club Brass, the hotel's exclusive rooftop bar. Guests say that the views are spectacular - and it's even better at sunset when you're up there with a glass of champagne in hand.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Waiting times at the bar.
While guests rate the quality of the food and drinks at the
hotel, some of them comment on the fact that the main bar area is fairly small,
and easily crowded. At busy periods, it can take a long time to get served,
even just for drinks.
negative:
Credit card charge.
Numerous guests have been surprised by a charge held on their credit cards over and above the room rate. This charge is to cover other incidentals during your stay and any money you haven't spent will be refunded, but guests report that it can take 10 days to get the refund, and aren't happy about being out of pocket in the meantime.
negative:
Everything has a price-tag.
All of the quirky items, such as vintage-style suitcases, bowler hats, and umbrellas, which adorn the rooms are all apparently for sale and come with a price tag attached. Some guests find this strange, and say that it cheapens the look of an otherwise upmarket hotel room.
