Based just outside of the historic centre of Sorrento, Hotel Girasole is a recently renovated, family run hotel. Each of the thirty-nine rooms is ensuite with a television, telephone, and air conditioning. They are all elegantly decorated and the majority have a panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples. Hotel Girasole boasts a private bar surrounded by orange trees with a view of Vesuvius. There is also free parking available as well as a TV lounge and sitting room. The hotel is decorated with an impressive collection of inlaid woodworks from Sorrento. A buffet breakfast is included in the cost of the room and other meals on request in the dining room. The hotel has two bars, one of which is poolside and offers drinks, local dishes and desserts. Guests can join walking tours of Sorrento and enjoy the many sight, sounds and flavours of the town as well as visiting nearby Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The pool area is clean and relaxed, surrounded by citrus trees, a lovely touch which makes it feel like a real oasis. Deck chairs are available to use, free of charge while the bar by the pool serves good quality food, drinks and ice-cream throughout the day. Guests with later flights appreciate being able to use the pool and changing areas even after having checked out.

The rooms are clean and well kept with lovely views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Guests find the beds to be comfortable and the linens changed regularly.
For many guests the location isn't entirely convenient for getting in and out of Sorrento itself. The walk to the town is around twenty to thirty minutes along a busy road that many find a little hair raising. Taxis and buses are available but you may prefer to spend the extra money staying somewhere more central.
A top tip from previous reviewer is to request a room overlooking the gardens as the room at the front of the hotel suffer from a great deal of noise from the main road.
