Positive Reviews
positive:
Old school Jamaican charm
The staff at Doctors Beach Cave are friendly and helpful; especially the front desk and bar staff. They offer excellent customer service, and are more than happy to impart their extensive local knowledge to hotel guests. The whole atmosphere is one of calm and relaxation.
positive:
Close to everything
Most guests find the hotel location to be exceptional; close to a stunning white sand beach, restaurants, shops and nightlife. Just a short hop away from mini-supermarkets and Margaritaville, guests can choose to be right in the thick of it or relax back at the hotel.
positive:
Excellent budget option
The hotel is a basic three-star option, so guests shouldn't be expecting luxury. Having said that, most find the clean, no-frills, spacious accommodation to offer excellent value for money and, while some modernisation would be welcomed, it is very reasonably priced when compared to alternative options nearby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No direct beach access
Contrary to what its name may suggest, Doctors Cave Beach Hotel does not have direct access to the beach it shares its name with. It is just a few minutes' walk away, however.
negative:
Limited dining options
Previous guests have been fairly critical of the meals at the hotel. The breakfast is continental only- with a very meagre selection and, unfortunately, there is no restaurant for lunchtime or evening meals. Thankfully, there are alternative options fairly close by.
negative:
Communication blackout
The hotel does advertise as having free Wi-Fi available and, there may well be at times but, numerous guests have reported having no internet access during their stays and, when it does work, access is solely offered in the lobby- not in the rooms.
