About Diamond
Situated in a terrific position right on the beach, Diamond City Resort offers sleek and modern accommodation in a quieter location to the west of Istanbul.
Rooms have that sleek and modern IKEA feel to them, and feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, minibars (non-alcoholic), flat screen TV’s with satellite channels, work desks, in-room safes and hairdryers.
Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with laundry, luggage storage and local information. Motorists will find free on-site parking, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
There are two restaurants and a coffee shop available. They serve delicious Turkish cuisine, but Western favourites are also available if required. Alcohol is not served at the hotel.
The main attraction is of course the beach right out front. Central Istanbul is about 36 miles to the east, while Ataturk Airport is just 23 miles away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Great position on private beach
This was unquestionably guest's favourite feature of Diamond City. They loved that they could simply walk out the front door and be virtually on the beach. Also, it was said that the hotel has sun beds and a private section down their as well, so they didn't have to contend with the general mêlée.
positive:
Rooms newly renovated
A few guests commented that the rooms looked like they had been recently renovated. On the whole they were happy with the décor and glad that all the amenities that were present worked well.
positive:
Very near the motorway
It seemed that many guests staying at Diamond City had rented their own cars. They describe the location as ideal for motorists, being just a short way from the motorway exit.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Amenities missing from room
Several guests reported that amenities that were listed as being included in the rooms, like TV's and minibars, were in fact nowhere to be found. Also, complaining about this did not seem to make any difference.
negative:
Very far from Istanbul
While guests likely knew this before booking, when actually staying at the hotel its distance from Istanbul was more of a problem than they expected. Those with a car could drive in, but then they had parking issues, so the suggestion was that those looking to visit the city should not stay this far out.
negative:
Misallocation of rooms
A fairly large number of guests had problems when booking in. They had booked sea view rooms, only to be told a tall tale at check-in as to why they couldn't be allocated a sea view room. Suffice to say that guests did not believe the reasons given. They regarded it as a dishonest attempt to allocate to them an inferior room to the one they booked.
