About Best Western Plus Montreal East
Conveniently located on Rue Sherbrooke in East Montreal, Best Western Plus Montreal East offers simple budget accommodation and a gorgeous outdoor pool terrace.
A variety of rooms are available, with the larger ones featuring in-suite hot tubs and other sensual elements. All the usual practical amenities are also included, from hairdryers to microwaves.
The star attraction, certainly in summer, is the outdoor pool terrace, where guests can enjoy the all too brief warm weather and perhaps go for a refreshing dip. Reception staff are on duty around the clock and can assist with tours, transfers and other matters.
A very simple breakfast is available. There are also quite a few dining options on nearby Rue Sherbrooke, including Tomate Basilic right opposite, a great family oriented Italian spot.
While the immediate area around Best Western Plus Montreal East does have the shops, restaurants and other amenities you’ll likely need, tourists will perhaps want to head into central Montréal, which is 13.5 miles away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Rooms are very spacious
One of the very first things guests commented on in their reviews, and presumably one of the first things they noticed when walking into their rooms, was that they were very spacious. They certainly didn't feel as if they were being crammed in.
positive:
Plenty of free parking
A surprising number of guests mentioned that the hotel's parking was one of their favourite features. Given the location of the hotel, it seems fair to say that most guests were using it as a bit of a motel while en-route to another location, rather than as a base to explore Montreal, so were very happy with the abundant onsite parking.
positive:
Rooms are pretty clean
The vast majority of guests reported that they thought their room was very clean on arrival, and tended to remain that way during the course of their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Exceptionally poor breakfast
To say that guests didn't think much of the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel would be significantly understating the matter. The main issue was that it was simply inadequate, with guests reporting that it consisted of a muffin and a hot beverage, with the muffins usually described as awful and the jury out on the hot beverage.
negative:
Looks a bit run down from the outside
A number of guests felt the hotel was beyond its prime and looked quite run down, especially from the outside. It seems that there's quite a lot of maintenance work and general remodelling required. The pool came in for especially harsh criticism, with many guests saying it was a very unflattering green colour, presumably due to algae.
negative:
Far from downtown Montreal
Those guests who did want to explore the city pointed out that the hotel is very far from downtown Montreal and its attractions.
