Negative Reviews
negative:
Not a hotel, no reception and €500 deposit.
A few guests felt misled that these were apartments, not a hotel, and since there is no-one on reception, you have to call up the apparently less than personable staff to let you in, which some people found annoying, especially if they had to wait. Some guests also mentioned being made to pay a €500 deposit on arrival, which was not a nice surprise.
negative:
Tired furniture and maintenance issues.
The furniture here was thought to be a bit tired, with others considering the apartments as being faded beauties. Other guests sometimes reported finding fittings like the TVs and lighting to be in need of maintenance and repair, and also mentioned stained bedding and linen.
negative:
Too far from Amsterdam centre.
Apartments Visseringstaete was a bit far out of the city centre for the preference of some, who would have preferred to have been right amongst the downtown action and within easy walking distance of all attractions.
