About Apartamentos Guinea
Situated in a back street, barely 100 yards from the beach at Playa del Ingles, Apartamentos Guinea Apartments offers simple budget accommodation to guests looking for an uncomplicated beach break.
Both one and two bedroom apartments and regular guest rooms are available. All are simply furnished and have private bathrooms, TV’s and air conditioning, while the apartments also have an equipped kitchen and separate sitting/dining area. Most rooms also have balconies.
The main focus at Apartamentos Guinea is undoubtedly on the expansive pool terrace. It has the usual sun beds, but there is also a small poolside café serving drinks and light meals. Wi-Fi is available on the property.
Those not self-catering have many great dining options within 10 minutes walk.
The beach is just a few steps away, of course, but the centre of Playa del Ingles, with its bars cafes and restaurants is about 10 minutes’ walk away from the apartments.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location near the beach
The location, just a minute or two from the beach, was by far the thing that guests most enjoyed about Guinea Apartments. Most were on Gran Canaria to enjoy a beach holiday, after all, and having the beach so close was very handy. Also mentioned was the proximity to the nightlife and restaurants, which avoided the need for expensive taxis.
positive:
Good value for money
While the apartments were described as extremely basic, many guests went on to say that, considering their room-rate, they got a good deal. They seemed quite happy to accept basic rooms since they were paying a decent rate for a place so close to the beach.
positive:
Good swimming pool area
Guests were generally impressed with the pool area, and were grateful that they could return after a long hot day and take a refreshing dip.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Kitchens are poorly equipped
This was a fairly common complaint. Many guests did want to self cater, but felt that there really wasn't enough equipment of various kinds to prepare any but the most simple meals.
negative:
No on-site parking
Several guests complain that there is no on-site parking made available. Some say that the hotel does have parking spaces, but these are not available to guests, even if they offer to pay - a fairly strange state of affairs. In any event, the result was that most guests needed to park on the street, or find a parking garage.
negative:
Extra charge for Wi-Fi
It seems that Guinea Apartments charges extra for Wi-Fi, something most guests who mentioned it thought should be included in the room rate. To them connectivity is a basic necessity nowadays.
