Near the lively centre of Playa de las Americas on Tenerife, the Friendly Rooms hostal offers cost effective and comfortable accommodation. Spacious rooms and dormitories are en-suite, with modern decor and parquet flooring. They include free Wi-Fi, refrigerator, colour television and personal lockers with key access. Air conditioning is an optional extra. Bicycles may be stored at Friendly Rooms and the hostal is just a few hundred yards from the beach and a 10 minute walk from the vibrant centre of the resort. Guests have the use of a small kitchen which includes a toaster and microwave. Restaurants are numerous in this vicinity and include Chunga Chunga, Christy’s and the Cozy Cafe. In addition to bars and restaurants, the port of Los Cristianos is just over a mile away and from there, Palma, la Gomera and Valverde can be accessed by ferry.
It’s tempting to say that they make the holiday special. They are so obliging, friendly and adaptable and they will advise the best way to get to your destination and the best value local bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Brilliant!

It’s all pretty basic, but it’s clean and includes everything you could reasonably need. Much cheaper than a hotel where even the best reception and management staff won’t match these super owners.
During your stay, they seem to take the term, ‘self’ catering quite literally and assume that you’ll clean up after yourself! Not entirely unreasonable, given the low cost of accommodation.
You really need air con here, but it’s an extra cost! Pity they don’t just stick a few Euros on the bill and include it.
It’s small and consists solely of a microwave, toaster and water boiler, ie: not oven or hotplates. Very limiting as to what you can prepare here.
