positive:
It's a delight to have a spacious and clean room
Rooms pleasantly live up to the expectations! They have plenty of space to move around in, and to lay out belongings, and provide a nice, cozy ambience. They're also quite clean, and remain that way through consistent housekeeping.
positive:
Perfect location for using public transit for NYC
This is a fantastic place if you want to tour or visit New York, but want a hotel that's lower key and doesn't charge city prices. Subway stops are nearby, as well as bus stops that go right into Manhattan. If you are driving, you're not that far, so it's always easy to go sightseeing and return here.
positive:
Great attentive staff and terrific free breakfast
Staff at Holland Motor Lodge are always ready with a smile. They'll give you insider info about attractions and how much to pay for something, and how best to make the most of your time. The mornings start off right with a breakfast that's much better than some that aren't free at other hotels.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms near the tunnel side are very noisy
If you're sensitive to noise, ask for a room that's not near the Holland Tunnel side of the hotel. A lot of traffic noise comes through, so you'll hear a lot of vehicles if you're not tucked back.
negative:
Decor is outdated and rooms have odd smells
At times there are odors like stale or musty air that are obviously off-putting. Although the rooms serve their purpose and are nice, the furnishings are too worn looking for the hype and rates.
negative:
There's no elevator, so stairs may be a problem
Keep in mind that there's elevator for the hotel. The stairs may be a challenge, especially if you have a lot of luggage or heavy items.
