A three-star inn with 15 rooms, Yankee Clipper Inn is an art deco mansion dating back to 1929. Guest rooms are located in two buildings, the main inn and Bulfinch House, which dates back to 1840 and sits across the street. Rooms are equipped with 40-inch flatscreen television, iron/ironing board, and modern air conditioning/heating units. Bathrooms have shower, free toiletries, hair dryer and Egyptian towels. There is a large patio that overlooks the ocean where the guests can sit back and relax. There is a seasonal outdoor pool, terrace, garden and meeting room. Guests can use the computer in the parlor area. Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary. Services of tours/ticket assistance, fax, photocopying and board games/puzzles can be utilized by the guests. Breakfast is complimentary and includes a variety of choices. Few restaurants are close to the property. Granite Pier is half a mile and Rockport Golf Club is three miles away from Yankee Clipper Inn.
Guests enjoyed the wide spread of hearty breakfast that includes coffee, juice, cereals, fruit, homemade Blueberry muffins, breads and bagels. The Belgian Waffles and bacons are a must try and are served hot. As per some guests, the best part was that the breakfast is served in a very personalized manner on a porch area overlooking the water.
The beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from the enclosed porch of the bedrooms were loved by all the guests. The sea breeze fills up the rooms when the doors and windows are opened at night. Few guests were thrilled to watch the sun rise and set right from their rooms and described it as a magical experience.
The rooms and suites are done up tastefully keeping the old world charm alive. The king sized beds are very comfortable and the antique furniture adds to the entire look of the room. Bathrooms are absolutely clean. The daily housekeeping service is also top notch.
Some of the guests felt that having an elevator to take their luggage up to the third floor would have been great. Absence of an elevator also made it difficult for the aged guests to climb the tiresome stairs.
Many guests recommended that having more facilities like tables, umbrellas and sun beds would make it more inviting. It would also be nice to have a heated pool for cold seasons.
Few guests felt that the mattresses were too soft for comfortable sleep and they could do with changing the mattresses to slightly firmer ones.
