About The Nest
The Nest is located in the northern Icelandic fishing village of Raufarhöfn, where it offers simple accommodation right on the edge of the Arctic Circle and the Greenland Sea. Guests staying here can enjoy the area’s diverse birdwatching opportunities or hunt down the Northern Lights — and then come home to cosy lodgings featuring a communal kitchen and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Single to quadruple rooms are available, all of which share bathrooms and showers and include all linen, a wardrobe and bedside tables.
This non-smoking guesthouse has a shared TV lounge and free parking is available on site.
Breakfast buffets can be booked through a nearby hotel, and guests will find themselves a short way away from a restaurant, cafe and grocery store in the village.
The Nest is a 15-minute walk away from The Arctic Henge, and a 15-minute drive from the track leading to Iceland’s northernmost point, Hraunhafnartangi.

Good spot for Arctic Circle seekers
Although guests said that Raufarhöfn itself was tiny, with very limited options for eating out, they said that they enjoyed the chance to get into the wilderness, enjoy a little while in the rustic fishing village, search for the Arctic Circle and visit the northernmost area of Iceland.
