The hotel is only five minutes from the recently-renovated Countryside Mall, as well as spring training and minor league baseball at both Brighthouse Networks Field and Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Small-town shopping and dining are abundant in Dunedin's downtown area, where pedestrians can also access the Pinellas Trail for jogging or biking. Honeymoon Island is a popular nearby recreation site, and the hotel is less than 15 minutes from the famous Clearwater Beach and Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Several guests complained that the rooms were not clean. The carpets were very dirty and in need of replacing, while others found strange spots and odors throughout the rooms. Several guests also complained of finding roaches, and there were a couple of complaints about bedbugs as well.

Many of the rooms seem to be in a state of disrepair. There are recurrent complaints about broken-down furniture in rooms and cigarette burns on the bedding. One guest complained that the bathroom door was missing from their room, while several others complained of faulty lighting and that the air conditioning and in-room refrigerator were not working properly.
