Situated in a lovely spot, with terrific views towards the Rockies, Lady MacDonald Country Inn & Spa is a traditional property offering country style accommodation. The 12 rooms are each uniquely decorate and furnished, and have a bit of a country feel to them. Most have electric or gas fireplaces, and all have their own private bathrooms. The Bodhi Tree Spa is perhaps the most appreciated amenity at Lady MacDonald Country Inn. It offers an incredible array of Eastern beauty and therapeutic treatments, from aromatherapy massage to manicures and pedicures. A delicious breakfast is served every morning, with the hosts happy to accommodate special diets if given notice. There are a number of great dining options in the nearby town, from Tim Horton’s to upscale restaurants. The main area attraction is undoubtedly the nearby Banff National Park, where guests can hike bike and generally enjoy some of the finest mountain vistas in the world.
There's no doubt that it was the breakfast that most impressed guests during their stay. Again and again they reported that it was truly exceptional, being tasty, well prepared and consisting of a good variety of foods. Many mentioned that the host was especially understanding when it came to special diets, like gluten free or diabetic.
It was rare to read a review that did not praise the host, Perry, in some way. He was said to be the perfect innkeeper, offering a warm and genuine welcome, as well as a friendly word or an offer to help when that was what was required by his guests.
Guests liked the location of the inn for a couple of reasons. One was because it was near the main road, and so convenient when driving in and out. It was said to be easy to find. Secondly, they reported that it was positioned in such a way that it had great views of the Rockies, which was after all the main reason many where in the area.
A few guests mentioned that these were not replaced during a stay, so those staying for some days did not have all they required.
It was mentioned that there are train tracks that run nearby, and that the sound of freight rains passing through at night could sometimes be heard in the rooms, occasionally causing difficulty sleeping.
It seems that some guests were unlucky in that the Wi-Fi signal did not reach their room at all, or sometimes only certain parts of their room.
