Positive Reviews
positive:
A splendid stay.
Some guests said that the only bad thing about Hillview Lodge was that they had to leave. Guests were particularly impressed with the facilities, which included an impressive room full of all of the comforts of home. Top notch linens and pillows, nice towels, and a wonderful shower were only surpassed by a strong Wi-Fi signal and spacious quarters.
positive:
Everything a guest house should be.
Guests wished that every bed and breakfast could be this good. A highlight for many, were the kind and cheerful owners who really knew what great customer service meant. Nothing was too much for the lovely proprietors, and some guests wanted to return just for the company of the couple running Hillview Lodge.
positive:
Breakfast of champions.
Guests raved about the morning meal here. It was a case of breakfast done right, with ample selection and high quality products. Some said that it was better than a breakfast in any restaurant.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Sloped ceiling.
While a minor complaint, some guests felt that they had to mention the slanted ceilings found in some rooms. Taller guests might want to keep in mind that ducking might be in order in certain cases.
negative:
A firm mattress.
If you prefer your mattress to be on the firmer side, chances are that you will like sleeping here. A small portion of guests, however, weren't as taken with firm beds that caused an uncomfortable night.
negative:
Soundproofing not always up to par.
A few guests commented that windows in rooms weren't double glazed. While not a problem for most, a few mentioned road noise out front, as well as noise coming from others staying at the busy guest house.
