Guesthouse Comfort Inn (Concord, USA)

Rooms are clean, comfortable and welcoming. The small gymnasium is good, although some equipment is overdue for an upgrade.

The hotel is conveniently close to the town center and its varied attractions.

Nearby NH Liquor Store is the best bet but you should note that it closes at 9pm. Food isn’t bad there either.

Some members of staff would benefit from a re-training course. Customer service doesn’t come easy to them.

Noise from neighboring rooms highlights the fact that there’s no sound insulation. The hot tub is … cold. So is the sauna! They don’t open all the facilities at all times – the hot tub can be out of action for days on end. It’s a case of hard times with the furniture. Mattresses are back-breakingly hard and there’s no easy chair to sit on. Ooch!

On further inspection, there are problems with room cleanliness. Carpets can be dirty. They seem to have been walked over and not subsequently cleaned. The bathroom may have that dank atmosphere and traces of mold. Furniture is chipped and there’s the ultimate giveaway clue in the drawers … in the form someone else’s hair. The thermostat is either hot or cold ... nothing in between ... and there is evidence of water damage. Hmm…could you possibly be staying in a room that has previously been designated for long stay guests or resident staff? Seems likely. They state that rooms are cleaned daily. Makes you wonder what comprises ‘cleaning’. Not all rooms are like this. Just some.
