Positive Reviews
positive:
Warm, spacious rooms.
Rooms at Greyhound Hotel are spacious and feel warm which is due to well-placed room heating as well as the choice in room décor colours which includes warm earth tones and creams. The rooms are also carpeted which also adds to the overall cosy feel. Rooms are kept wonderfully clean with bedding and towels replaced daily.
positive:
Beautiful, historic building.
The hotel occupies a former coaching inn which dates back to the 18th century. The owners have kept much of the original architectural features showing but have also added plenty of modern touches as well. The entire hotel is also very clean and well-maintained.
positive:
Friendly, approachable staff.
Hotel staff are warm and friendly and provide a very high standard of service throughout. Perhaps most importantly, staff are very approachable which makes it easy to deal with any issues or questions while staying there.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Traffic noise can be a problem.
Light sleepers or business travellers need to choose rooms carefully as rooms that are closest to the M23 road would probably not be suitable as road noise can sometimes get quite loud, especially at night as motorists travel to and from London.
negative:
Some mattresses may need replacing.
A common observation by guests staying at the Greyhound Hotel is that some of the mattresses are quite worn and in need of replacing, this is of course not the case in every room as others have reported a comfortable stay.
negative:
Water pressure issues.
Hotel en suite showers tend to deliver very low water pressure which can make showering less than enjoyable. The hotel management is working on resolving the issue, something that is quite common in older buildings where pipes are decades old.
