Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms on the small side.
Perhaps the most common complaint from guests is that some of the rooms at the Hawkes Hotel are particularly compact. It is not just the space of the bedrooms that has been a problem – the en-suite has also been noted for being small.
negative:
Facilities on the fritz.
Although the hotel is advertised as having Freeview channels on all televisions, a number of past guests have stated that most channels did not work. Likewise, some visitors noted that the free Wi-Fi was unreliable during their stay.
negative:
Basic and dated furnishings.
One disadvantage that has been brought up on occasion is that the Hawkes Hotel comes across as dated in certain areas. With that said, most guests did not see this being a big enough problem that it spoilt their experience at the hotel.
