Thornton Lodge, built as a summer home for wealthy industrialists and now a family home providing 5 star bed and breakfast during summer months from a peaceful setting above the River Ure near Aysgarth Falls and Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Rooms are large, bright and comfortable. They are decorated tastefully in keeping with the original era of the house, with beautiful wallpapers and fabrics and plush fitted carpets. All rooms have small, silent fridges and lovely modern ensuite bathrooms. There is a large sun lounge with a pool table and a fabulous original oak panelled dining room and wide oak panelled staircase in the entrance hall. The house is full of lovely paintings, antiques and interesting items and people love the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. It is an ideal base for walking and touring the area and a cosy environment to chill out in at the end of the day. The beds are ultra comfortable and the breakfast is delicious.
