Château le Tour, an elegant family home set in the lovely countryside of the Dordogne, offers bed and breakfast rooms and tables d'hôtes. 5 spacious clean rooms, all with private bathrooms, a library, a dining room and a lovely south facing terrace overlooking the valley. Outside a large heated swimming-pool. Rental of 2 cottages and the gîte la Bergerie, a renovated farmhouse sleeping up 16 people. Only 10 minutes' drive from Bergerac airport, with low-cost flights from the UK, Paris and other European destinations. The Château is available for small conferences and weddings and organised yoga retreats, painting and cookery courses. Bergerac, 18 km away, sits on the banks of the Dordogne river in the heart of the wine producing area. It is a busy town with good shopping,restaurants and a large market on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. There is a riding school adjacent to the Château and for golfers there is an excellent 9 hole golf course within 10 minutes drive and an 18 hole golf course less than half an hour away. The area has been described the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and châteaux aplenty.
