Barkers Island Inn Resort & Conference Center (Superior, USA)

The Barkers Island Inn is located in a picturesque setting with the Saint Louis Harbor right across from it. It is the perfect island retreat for an enjoyable holiday with water sports and natural beauty thrown in for good measure. A public swimming beach is located next to the Inn. Guests can enjoy relaxing walks by the marina. Several museums like SS Meteor Whaleback Ship and World of Accordions Museum are within a four kilometers distance from the Inn.

The rooms and suites are all air conditioned offering water views. Rooms feature satellite television and coffee or tea makers, some rooms have a microwave and fridge. Bathrooms are private. Some suites have added dining tables and hot tubs. Sofa beds are another added feature.

The Inn has facilities to cater to guests travelling on business and holiday. It has conference rooms for holding meetings. Guests can enjoy a swim in the pool and relax in the spa and sauna. A tennis court and a fitness court are present for guest use. A game area is also present. The onsite restaurant is a delight to dine in with its Lake and marina views and excellent food. A bar serves drinks. Parking is free and Wi-Fi access is also a free amenity.

The rooms are dated, small and smell of cigarette smoke. Beds and pillows are uncomfortable. Electrical wiring is faulty and needs replacing. Room fixtures are old. The sink in the bathroom is placed very low and inconvenient to use.

The hallways are extremely warm and stuffy. The property is dated and needs a revamp with new paint and decor. Maintenance is poor as well.

Breakfast is not inclusive. No room service is available either. Rates are steep for the facilities and services provided, so guests find it low value for money.
